New art forms, such as photography and lithographic printing, flourished while technology and transport – the telegraph, electricity, railways – transformed society. ![]() Many people not only survived but thrived in this tumultuous world. Visitors will glimpse the textures of life in 19th-century China through art, fashion, newspapers, furniture – even soup ingredients. The show illuminates the lives of individuals – an empress, a dancer, a soldier, an artist, a housewife, a merchant and a diplomat. The exhibition is underpinned by a four-year research project supported by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and led by the British Museum and London University, in collaboration with over 100 scholars from 14 countries.Įxquisite objects are brought together for the first time – from cloisonné vases given by the Last Emperor's court to King George and Queen Mary for their coronation in 1911, to a silk robe commissioned by the Empress Dowager Cixi. In the shadow of these events lie stories of remarkable individuals – at court, in armies, in booming cosmopolitan cities and on the global stage. This period of violence and turmoil was also one of extraordinary creativity, driven by political, cultural and technological change. ![]() Between 17 Qing China endured numerous civil uprisings and foreign wars, with revolution ultimately bringing an end to some 2,000 years of dynastic rule and giving way to a modern Chinese republic. ![]() With Dupri in the producer's chair for every song save one, Wanted is a So So Def release in every way but officially. He may hang up his mic, but Bow Wow will always command attention with his business savvy and versatile talent.Purchase and download this album in a wide variety of formats depending on your needs. Bow Wow's musical output slowed as his acting career took off in the 2010s, prompting the 2021 announcement of his final album, Before 30, a title inspired by his laundry list of accomplishments by the landmark age. He dropped the "Lil" from his name that year and briefly parted from Dupri for Unleashed before reuniting for 2005's Wanted, a record with two of his most effectively seductive singles, "Let Me Hold You" featuring Omarion and "Like You" with Ciara. His stardom blossomed on the road with his blockbuster Scream Tour alongside fellow child phenoms B2K, and he also landed his first major movie role in 2002's Like Mike, which also included his song "Basketball" on the soundtrack. Bow’s charismatic raps and boyish charm, shining over Dupri's hit-making production, made him the object of much affection. By age 11, Lil' Bow Wow was working with producer Jermaine Dupri, and they built a fruitful musical friendship with his first two albums, Beware of Dog and Doggy Bag. Born in 1987, Ohio native Shad Moss found success in music very early: Snoop Dogg noticed him rapping at a concert at age six, gave him the name Lil' Bow Wow and placed him on his classic 1993 album, Doggystyle, and in his video for "Gin and Juice". ![]() Bow Wow started as a child heartthrob rapper and grew into a cunning, all-around entertainer. ![]() When X-Ray Mode is on, you will be able to see through the objects and select any vertices, edges, or faces from any side. Notice how the Surface loft command shows up, but the Form loft command does not. I’m going to activate the loft command from the shortcuts box, where I’ll choose the blue solid modeling version. I’ll use the dimensions of 100mm in both directions.Īt this point, we have the minimum requirement for creating a loft in Fusion 360. Once the construction plane is completed I’m going to create a center rectangle off of the offset plane. I’m going to create an offset plane 100mm off of the XY origin plane. We’ll need to create the second profile on a construction plane since we don’t have any other faces or surfaces to reference. I’m going to create a 100mm center circle on the bottom XY origin plane. Let’s start with a basic loft project, where I’ll walk you through many of the options in the loft dialog. Each loft feature does have some small differences that I’ll be covering near the end of this tutorial. Lastly, we have the form loft command, which is only available if you’re in the Form or sculpt environment.Īt their core, all of these loft commands work similarly. The surface modeling loft command, found under the “create” dropdown of the surface tab. We have the solid modeling loft command, found under the “create” dropdown of the solid tab. To start, you should know that the loft command is available in 3 different environments. Using the loft feature will join the selected profiles, resulting in a solid or surface. ![]() Put simply, the loft command is like connecting the dots. If you’re looking for the advanced tips and tricks then you can skip ahead by using the timestamp that I have down below in the video description. I’ll also be walking you through both a beginner and a more advanced loft example, with step-by-step instructions. I’m going to cover many of the options in the Loft dialog. By the end of this video, you’ll know how to use the loft command in Fusion 360. ![]() ![]() ![]() As a result, one state cannot be completed until the previous state is defined. In DirectX 11, there are dependencies between these different states. This pipeline contains a collection of different states, including rasterize state, blend state, and depth stencil state, among other components. However, DirectX 11's graphics pipeline isn't perfect. This is referred to as the graphics pipeline and is the flow of data inputs and outputs that occur as your GPU renders frames. With DirectX 11, when a game's geometry is submitted to the GPU to be rendered, a variety of hardware settings are responsible for interpreting and rendering this data. This maximizes GPU usage and improves your gaming performance.ĭirectX 12 also introduced PSOs. With DirectX 12's asynchronous computing, the waiter would be able to take your order all at once like in a fast food chain. Until you receive your drink, the GPU resources needed to take your main course order would be idle. In computing, each of the waiter's tasks would be handled by a different GPU resource. ![]() While this is effective, it isn't as efficient as it could be. The waiter isn't going to ask you what you would like for dessert before you have had your main course. Once you receive your drinks, they ask you what you would like for the main course. When a waiter first takes your order, they ask you what you would like to drink first. Think of it like a waiter at a restaurant. When this occurs, performance takes a hit because all of your GPU resources aren't being used. With DirectX 11, the GPU can only perform one of these tasks at a time and in a certain order. This essentially unlocks your GPU's full potential.Īside from graphics rendering, your GPU is responsible for handling a wide range of other tasks, such as running machine learning algorithms. Asynchronous computing increases GPU utilization by allowing multiple workloads to work in parallel. ![]() This includes asynchronous computing and pipeline state objects (PSOs). DirectX 12 also comes with some fancy bells and whistles. ![]() ![]() Miller then drove her to his house and subjected her to a series of sexual assaults over the following 27 hours. Of course, the joke is that this is just a stripped down version of Far Cry 3. Whether or not you’ve invested any time with the core game, if you’ve played a first-person shooter in the past five years then you’re not going to have any problems figuring Blood Dragon out. “Liberated garrisons are liberated,” one of the sarcastic loading screen hints reads. “Just let me kill people, damn it,” Rex complains.īlood Dragon has a lacerating sense of humor when it comes to overused industry design trends. “Jump if you wish to jump,” your HUD cheerfully says – that’s what Rex calls the tutorial voiceover – as an on-screen prompt explains that the jump mechanic allows engagement with the z-axis. Following an on-rails minigun shootout (accompanied by the gleeful yelps of Little Richard), the Terminator-armed cyber commando sergeant Rex Power Colt is dropped into the game’s tutorial stage, much to his own chagrin. Press X to demonstrate your ability to readīlood Dragon is smarter than it has any right to be. It’s best to just accept Blood Dragon for exactly what it is: ridiculous, hilarious bullsh*t. If you wanted to, you could read the just-released stand-alone DLC’s neon, synth-soaked, crotch-grabbing aesthetic as a perversely ironic meta-commentary on ‘80s-flavored hipster culture. Blood Dragon doesn’t care about any of that. Whether or not it was successful is besides the point. It’s a tactic that Far Cry 3’s muddled narrative attempted to repeat while Jason Brody was running around Rook Island, playing at war. Under the divisive direction of Clint Hocking, Far Cry 2 gained something of a reputation as a series that was, at least to some degree, willing to mold the trappings of triple-A design into a deeper commentary. ![]() I’m not sure why a game like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon exists, but it really doesn’t matter. There was no tie-in movie developed for this beautiful work of camp ![]() ![]() ![]() “A game where you don’t just depend on one another for firepower, but truly work together.” “When we started 10 Chambers Collective, we set out to make a game for the cooperative FPS community that would really put them to the test,” said founder Ulf Andersson. It’s clear that 10 Chambers Collective is making a game for truly hardcore FPS fans. ![]() However, the enemies that will make things difficult for players in GTFO will seemingly be revealed at a later date. Of course, given that this is an FPS, and given that the teaser is backed by some quite disturbing sound effects, we can perhaps assume that there’s something evil lurking in the depths. It depicts what looks to be a deep underground cavern, which is presumably the location that players are being tasked with escaping in the game. The short teaser trailer released by 10 Chambers Collective describes GTFO as “a terrifying new co-operative experience,” and we see a little bit of what that means in the clip. ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s tough, thoughtful, and the controls still feel smooth. All the while, the puzzles become evermore difficult, with coloured lamps that block your ability to clone and rooms that reverse gravity. The derelict spaceship setting and the constant death – of both the real you and of your clones, if you can even remember which one the “real you” is – provide a ponderous backdrop to the puzzling, and make you think about the nature of consciousness. By switching between them you can fling your soul across entire rooms and walk your creations off sharp drops if necessary, all in the name of reaching the next puzzle. You can generate up to four clones, and they’ll all mimic your actions exactly, which is handy for pushing blocks and pulling levers. Just don’t expect the narrator to approve. When the narrator says, “Stanley took the first open door on his left to get back to business,” you can obey, or you can pass by the door in search of secrets and one of its many multiple endings. The narration happens in real-time, and the voice will both pre-empt and react to the choices you make with hilarious, playful results.
